Dichotomy: Tribe — City in Libya after 2011

Using the example of events taking place in Libya, paper considers historical reasons country’s division into “city” and “tribe”, as well their role political processes country. It is noted that such internal actors independent social institutions and, consequently, often local players, have a great impact on Libya. Special attention paid to inability elites create functioning government could stabilize situation. Specific examples interaction “cities” “tribes” are provided.
